Round 10 AFL Betting Tips
Carlton Blues vs Sydney Swans
Bet: Peter Ladhams anytime goalscorer at $1.85
The Swans take on the Blues in Friday night footy this week, in what is being billed as the biggest game of the round.
Sydney is set to once again go with a dual ruck set-up, naming both Peter Ladhams and Tom Hickey, whist Carlton will again be rolling with Tom De Koning as their lone ruckman.
Hickey returned from injury in Round 9, splitting the ruck duties pretty evenly with Ladhams, with both resting forward at times.
Now that Hickey has a game under his belt (and is facing just one ruckman), he should be the primary ruck, with Ladhams spending the majority of the night forward.
After kicking 0.2 last week, our model has Ladhams' fair odds to kick a goal this week down at $1.73, which makes it a nice bet at $1.85, especially if you're kicking off your weekend with a same-game multi.
The Swans and Blues meet at Marvel Stadium on Friday, May 20 at 7:50pm AEST.
Geelong Cats vs Port Adelaide Power
Bet: Connor Rozee anytime goalscorer at $2.65
Connor Rozee loves playing against the Cats. The young mid-forward has faced Geelong four times in his career, averaging over two goals a game, including a bag of five against them last year.
So far this season, Rozee has kicked a goal in just three games for Port Adelaide, but after booting 0.2 last week against North Mebourne, his role appears to be changing.
Our model has Rozee's fair odds to kick a goal at $1.98, meaning we have a 12.7% edge on the bookies' odds of $2.65.
Having kicked 2+ in three of his four games against Geelong in his career, we're on him to hit the scoreboard again this week.
The Cats host the Power at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday, May 21 at 1:45pm AEST.
Western Bulldogs vs Gold Coast Suns
Bet: Western Bulldogs to win at $1.40
The Bulldogs return to Ballarat to play the Suns this week, and our supercomputer is liking them as a bet, even at the reasonably low odds of $1.40.
Basically, we have the correct odds at $1.34, meaning the Dogs have a huge 75% chance of winning their second straight game for the first time this season.
If the $1.40 on offer does not take your fancy in this one, add in Ben Ainsworth of the Suns to kick a goal at $1.50 (fair odds = $1.29) to get SGM odds of $2.20.
