Going back to 2019 (covering 5 seasons), Geelong lead the Head-to-head by 5-1. Average winning margin in these 5 wins is 28 points and they've been between a range of 24 to 42 pts which is essentially fairly comfortably.

The Crows beat the Cats in Round 1, 2021 which was their last meeting in Adelaide.

Last week:

The Crows went to Queensland and took on the speedy Gold Coast outfit, ultimately losing by 6 points on a damp deck. Saints were a tad unlucky down at Geelong on Saturday night. They managed to give away a late goal to Dangerfield in a decision that while correct, was just plain dumb with contact below the knees. They went down by 8 points but were coming home like a steam train before their momentum was upset.

Geelong got off to a somewhat lucky winning start, at home by 8 points over St Kilda. They seemed to be cruising but the Saints didn't give up and could have easily won the game if not for a contentious "contact below the knees" decision in the last few minutes.

What we can expect tonight:

Adelaide had a disappointing finish to 2023 and after going down to Gold Coast last week, need a win here. With Tex back in the team, nice night expected with a fast Adelaide Oval deck then they should be advantaged.  

Dangerfield returns to Adelaide, will lift but don't think he can get his team over the line.
