Changes:

📈 The Crows have gone nuts at the selection table, bringing in Butts, Parnell, Cook, Berry and Nankervis. Out goes Murphy and Milera with injuries and Sholl, Borlase and Pedlar dropped. Big changes to arrest the 0-3 start to the season makes this a Positive.

📈 In contrast, just one change for the Demons with Steven May coming in after missing a week with injury, out goes Marty Hore who has fractured his thumb. Big Positive.

Head to Head:

Melbourne have had the wood over Adelaide in recent times. Since Adelaide's GF appearance in 2017 there's been 8 meetings between these teams with Melbourne winning 6 of the 8. Adelaide's 2 victories have been by 1 point (2021) and 2 points (2019, at TIO Stadium).

In this same period there's been 4 meetings at Adelaide Oval where Melbourne hold a 3-1 advantage.

Last week:

The Crows were in a dogfight against Freo, with neither team leading by more than 10 points until midway through the last quarter when Freo gained the ascendancy and kicked away for a 35 point win. Kicking for goal was a problem for both sides with the Dockers kicking 9.15 to Adelaide 4.10. The stats showed the Fremantle won all the key stats so it probably was a case of Adelaide holding on for as long as they could but were worn down.

Melbourne were jumped by Port last week, and were 3 goals down midway through the 1st quarter. They managed to fight back to get a couple of goals up in the 2nd quarter and went into the main break level. Port again got a few goals in front but the Demons showed big spirit to peg them back again, in front of a huge Adelaide crowd. Port then drew level but the Demons manage to kick away again to win by a goal. It was a super effort after such a big week for them off the field. The Stats don't really measure spirit and to that point, they lost every key category - Inside 50s 66-45, Clearances 52-37, Tackles 67-57.

What we can expect:

This is 15th v 3rd and other than the feel good factor of Gather Round in Adelaide, it's hard to make a case for the home team. They've swung the changes but unless Tex Walker can find some form quickly, it's hard to see them kicking a winning score.

Melbourne look settled on the field and after losing the Sydney in Round 0, they've done little wrong since with wins over the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Port Adelaide.

The line looks a little skinny so it's hard to go past the Demons -6.5 with BetRight just here.
