📈 The Lions making plenty of changes to find a winning combination. Into the squad are McInerney, Morris, Lyons, Sharp and Reville. Out are Ah Chee (hamstring) and Tunstill is dropped. Positive.

📈 The Suns add Sexton, Read, Long and Jeffrey with Humphrey managed. Positive.

Head to Head:

The Suns won the last meeting in R20, at Carrara, by 41 points. The Lions had won the previous 9 meetings back to 2018 by an average of 46 points. 

Last week:

The Lions headed to Canberra where the Giants smashed them by 54 points after kicking 9 goals to 2 in the 2nd half. The Giants led early but the Lions managed to peg them back, taking a 9-point lead in Q2 before the Giants got going towards the end of Q2 and then kicked the next 9 goals through to mid-way in Q4. It was a disappointing result for the Lions who desperately need to string some wins together (their fixture is friendly over the next 5-6 weeks). The Giants won Disposals 388-301, Inside 50s 53-48, Clearances 38-34, Contested Ball 132-116 and Tackles 56-52.

The Suns had an unremarkable win at home over West Coast by 37 points. The Eagles jumped out to an early 3-goal lead, continuing the momentum of their recent wins over Fremantle and Richmond. The Suns pegged them back over the next quarter where it was an arm-wrestle into the middle of Q3 when the Suns finally, inevitably, took over on the Scoreboard. The Suns won the Inside 50s 67-35 (a smashing), Clerances 48-31, Contested Possession 148-111 and Tackles 79-67.

What we can expect this week:

Two ways of looking at this one:

1 - Lions MUST win. But they were so disappointing last week in Canberra and the noise about the playing group unrest is getting louder.
2 - This could be a BIG scalp for the Suns, and a great sign of their development under Hardwick.
