📉 The Pies lose DeGoey and Mitchell but get Markov and Sullivan. Negative.

Head to Head:

Last year's 2 meetings were split with the Magpies winning R10 by 28 points and then Carlton won R20 by 17 points. Going back to the start of 2019, the score sits 6-2 in favour of Collingwood which is no surprise given Carlton's lack of finals action over that period.

Last week:

The Blues went down to the Cats by 13 points in a massive game at Marvel Stadium. The Blues led by 2 points early in Q1 but lost the lead shortly after and trailed for the rest of the game. It got out to as much as 32 points in Q4 and then the Blues came home hard to get it back to 8 points with 5-6 minutes left. The Cats were able to find a goal when they needed it for most of the game, mostly through efficiency with 28 scoring shots from just 45 entries. The Blues won most of the stats - Contested Ball 139-120, Inside 50s 66-45 and Clearances 44-38. 

The Pies and the Bombers played out a Draw in an ANZAC Day Classic. The Bombers got off to a flying start kicking the first 4 goals of the game, and 6 of the first 7 goals. The Pies then kicked the next 6 goals to hit the front late in Q2. Barely 2 goals split the teams for the rest of the game and the Pies kicked the last 2 goals of the game before Langford had a set shot to win the game but could only manage a point to Draw it. The Bombers won Contested Possession 134-113, Clearances 40-23 while the Pies won the Tackle count 67-51. 

What we can expect this week:

Carlton can convert their statistical strength into efficiency and kick more goals. They are a better side than Collingwood and should have too much of the ball for Collingwood to be effective. A little more composure going forward should see the Blues cover the -4.5 line with Bet Right just here
