📉 It's a hamstring epidemic at Carlton with both Saad and McGovern going down with Cowan and Young returning. Negative.

📉 The Giants lose Taylor and Coniglio as documented but regain Callan Ward and Leek Aleer who comes in for game #5. Negative.

Head to Head:

The last 6 meetings see a split with 3 wins each. Interestingly, the Giants have 2 of their 3 wins at Marvel - 32 points last year in R24 (with the Giants needing a win to make the Finals) and also in R23 in 2021 by 14 points. Earlier in 2023, Carlton beat the Giants at the Sydney Showground by 10 points, in R3.

Last week:

Carlton will be very disappointed to lose to the Crows at Marvel on a big Saturday arvo. There wasn't more than 1-2 goals in the game through 3QT but they got out to 16 points midway through 4Q but 3 late Crows goals pegged them back. The Crows were able to hold on by 2 points. The majority of Stats were pretty even with the Blues having a slight edge in Clearances 41-34 and Tackles 62-53. The stat that really mattered was Carlton kicked 14.14 whereas the Crows kicked 16.4.

The Giants led the Saints by 35 points early in Q4 before the Saints kicked the last 6 goals to go down by a solitary point. The Giants copped a couple of injuries with Taylor and Coniglio not finishing the game, while Max King also went down late. St Kilda won the Inside 50s 52-48, Clearances 43-31, Contested Possession 132-121 and Tackles 67-59. The Giants won a telling stat - Efficiency Inside 50 - 56% to 44%. Given the Giants kicked straighter for goal, this gave them a buffer that they were able to maintain even though the Saints created more forward opportunities throughout the game.

What we can expect this week:

Both teams have numerous injury concerns but really like the Giants here to show their depth and keep up their excellent Marvel record vs the Blues. Take them with the +3.5 points line with Bet Right just here.
