Changes:

📈 The Kangaroos have added Cameron Zurhaar, Will Phillips and Jackson Archer to their squad. Small Positive.

📈 The Hawks have added Jack Gunston, Jai Serong and Harry Morrison to their squad. Small Positive.

Head to Head:

The last meeting was R18 last season with the Hawks winning by 8 goals at Marvel. Hawthorn lead the recent record 5-1, going back to the start of 2020. In that time they've played in Tasmania 3 times with Hawthorn winning in Launceston and Hobart, and the Kangaroos winning in Launceston.

Last week:

The Kangaroos copped a thumping 75-point defeat by the Cats in the Sunday lunchtime game in Geelong. Geelong blew them away in Q2, kicking 7 goals to 1 to lead by 51 points at HT. The final margin was an accurate reflection of the difference in class. Unsurprisingly Geelong won the key stats - Inside 50s 61-45, Clearances 38-31, Contested 133-120, Marks Inside 50 22-11. The Kangaroos got plenty of the ball (378-342), and held onto it (Marks 129-88), just couldn't get it into dangerous positions. They also won the Tackle count 68-51. It's a long, slow path that the Kangaroos are on.

The Hawks had a "regulation" 53-point defeat by the Hawks. Regulation in that they trailed by 19 at QT, 22 at HT and 40 at 3QT, showing a general suffocation without a big burst of goals. The Hawks managed just 270 disposals, against their season average of 340. The Suns won the Inside 50s 65-45, Clearances 38-28, Uncontested Possession 231-128 and Tackles 61-44. The game had a "men against boys" feel about it which can happen with a young side. It will be interesting to see how quickly they can bounce back.

What we can expect this week:

"Somebody has to win" has been said plenty of times about this game, which makes it sound a bit like a coin flip. North are getting a 16-point head start which makes them value if you think it's a coin flip. Take them at the +16.5 line with Bet Right just here.

North Melbourne +16.5
