📈 The Tigers finally get some big names back from injury with Grimes and Hopper coming back in with Naismith and Banks. Out goes Short (injured) and Sonsie, McAuliffe and Koschitzke are all dropped. BIG Positive.

📈 The Demons bring in Kossie Pickett as well as Laurie and Turner. Dropped are Tholstrup and Ben Brown, Salem goes down with a hamstring. Small Positive.

Head to Head:

Melbourne have won the last 4 meetings, by an average of 27 points, although Richmond have led at HT in 3 of those. Prior to those matches, Richmond won 5 in a row, all through their Premiership period of 2017-2020. 

Last week:

Both teams had the bye last week but prior to that the Tigers jumped West Coast with 4 early goals but that was about as good as it got for them. The Eagles put them to the sword in the 2Q, putting on 8 goals to 3 and taking a 19-point HT lead. It was more of the same in 3Q, with the Eagles getting out to a 49-point lead before finally winning by 39 points. They were really in no danger by about the middle of the 2Q. Eagles won the Inside 50s 61-40, Clearances 48-25 and smashed the Tigers in Contested Possessions 144-106 which really tells the whole story. The Tigers had a bad one, worse than they would have expected even considering the growing injury count. They lost Taranto and Ross prior to the game, Short did a calf in 1Q and it doesn't look good for the list in the short term. The Round 6 Bye came at a great time. 

The Demons were very poor against Brisbane in Round 5 losing by 22 points which was fairly flattering considering how badly they got smashed all over the ground. The lead got out to 49 points early in Q4 before some late goals gave the scoreboard some respectability. The Lions won all the major stats categories - Disposals 376-313, Inside 50s 58-50, Clearances 44-35, Marks 130-89, Tackles 82-53, Contested Possessions 134-121. The Demons had been up for a while so no real surprise that they might have dropped off a little, but this was a demolition job.

What we can expect this week:

The Tigers will be looking to make it harder in the Centre Square. They were soundly beaten there by West Coast. Given the Tigers important ins of Hopper and Grimes, as well as their knack for starting well, they could be in this game for a long time. You would expect Melbourne to come away with the 4 points but don't mind a small bet on the Tigers +28.5 line with Bet Right just here
