Changes:
For the Saints, B&F Jack Sinclair and hard nut, Zak Jones come in for Lance Collard and Brad Crouch who are both omitted. Big move with Crouch getting dropped, and Ross Lyon showing he'll do whatever takes to find a sustainable winning combination. Net positive.
For Collingwood, Premiership players Frampton and Tom Mitchell come in with Reef McInnes. Going out are John Noble, Charlie Dean and Ash Johnson all dropped, with Will Hoskin-Elliott being managed. Also Net positive.
Head to Head:
These teams met only once last season, back in April in Adelaide for Gatheround. Collingwood held on to win by a goal after the Saints came roaring back in time-on of the last quarter with 3 goals. De Goey did not play for the Pies. Collingwood have won 5 of their last 6 meetings.
Last week:
The Saints were a tad unlucky down at Geelong on Saturday night. They managed to give away a late goal to Dangerfield in a decision that while correct, was just plain dumb with contact below the knees. They went down by 8 points but were coming home like a steam train before their momentum was upset.
In contrast, the Pies never looked like winning against the Swans. The most worrying part was the their lack of Marks Inside 50 where they were outshone 19-9 and it showed on the scoreboard with Sydney having easier shots at goal and ultimately winning by 33 points.
What we can expect tonight:
Collingwood will need to be tough and aggressive to stay in this one but can expect improved performances from some of the better performers of previous seasons - Crisp, Sidebottom, Mihocek, Josh Daicos.
The Saints will take it right up to the Pies with aggression to split the game open. Collingwood's backline looks strong and fast but if the Saints should be able to get the ball to Max King or Membrey if King isn't open.
St Kilda with the 10 point start looks a great option with BetRight just here.
St Kilda +10.5
