Head to Head:

These two teams have had some great contests over the years including 2x 1-point margins and 2x 2-point margins since the start of 2019. Sydney won the last meeting in R21 last season by 11 points after the Giants won by a point in R7. The last 10 meetings sit at 5 wins each.

Last week:

The Swans did it fairly easily, with efficiency against the Hawks. They took a 25-point lead to QT before finally settling with a 76-point win. Hard to believe the margin could be so great when you consider that Sydney had just 3 more Inside 50s than the Hawks (50- 47). The Hawks also won Clearances 35-30 and Contested Ball 128-110. 

The Giants hosted the Lions in Canberra, and won by 54 points after kicking 9 goals to 2 in the 2nd half. The Giants led early but the Lions managed to peg them back, taking a 9-point lead in Q2 before the Giants got going towards the end of Q2 and then kicked the next 9 goals through to mid-way in Q4. It was as impressive for the Giants as it was disappointing by the Lions. The Giants won Disposals 388-301, Inside 50s 53-48, Clearances 38-34, Contested Ball 132-116 and Tackles 56-52. 

What we can expect this week:

Feels like the Bookies have the prices the wrong way around here. With the Giants to have the luxury of Toby Greene coming back into the side, he'll make a huge difference to a winning team. I like the Giants to cover with the +3.5 line with Bet Right just here
