📈 West Coast bring in Dom Sheed for his first game of 2024 while Luke Edwards sits this one out because of concussion suffered against Richmond. Positive.

📈 Fremantle get back Sean Darcy and Sam Sturt with Switkowski (Injured) and Matt Taberner (Managed). Positive. Small Positive.

Head to Head:

Fremantle have won the last 5 Derbies by an average margin of 47 points, the biggest result being R22 last season by 101 points. West Coast won the previous 10 Derbies which takes us back to R3, 2016.

Last week:

West Coast were jumped by 4 early Richmond goals but then steadily fought their way back. They trailed by 8 points at QT but really upped the ante in the 2Q, putting on 8 goals to 3 and taking a 19-point HT lead. It was more of the same in 3Q, getting out to a 49-point lead before finally winning by 39 points. They were really in no danger by about the middle of the 2Q and had winners all over the ground. Super games from Harley Reid, Elliot Yeo, Tim Kelly and Jake Waterman who kicked 6 goals and took 13 marks. Eagles won the Inside 50s 61-40, Clearances 48-25 and smashed the Tigers in Contested Possessions 144-106 which really tells the whole story.  

Port and Freo was a low-scoring arm-wrestle with Port ultimately prevailing by 3 points in a thriller. Port's biggest lead was 13 points early in Q2 but the Dockers ground away and got 10 points in front a few times during the 2nd half. Charlie Dixon and JHF kicked the last 2 goals for Port and they held on. Port won the Inside 50s 56-46, Marks Inside 50 12-6 and Tackles 73-53. Freo won the Clearances 40-31 and the Contested Possessions 138-127. This was one that got away from Freo.

What we can expect this week:

West Coast can improve a little more but the Dockers to make it Derby win #6 in a row. Dockers should also be able to cover the -32.5 point line with Bet Right just here.
