Head to Head
The bookies cant split these two sides ($1.92 each) and neither can the model with the slightest of edges to the Stars (1%). I’m leaning Stars tonight with Stoinis likely to get elevated to open the batting. The Sixers are a side where their lesser lights need everything to go right whereas if the Stars guns fire it is all over.
Highest Opening Partnership
The model likes the Sixers slightly over the Stars in this market (3%) and it is no big surprise given the troubles Ben Dunk has had. My only query here is the likely inclusion of Jackson Bird who knows this pitch well and can get the new ball to swing away from the two Sixers right handers.
Most Sixes
The love for the Sixers continues at SI HQ with a 5% edge for the home side in the Most Sixes market. This looks a smart play given the Sixers can clear the fence all the way down to #8 whereas the Stars rely on 4-5 guys only.
High Bat
Jump all over the $6 for Stoinis most runs here. He should get to open the innings with Dunk but even if he doesn’t he will bat top 4. Well over the odds for mine.
Phillipe at $11’s is someone you could look at for some value in the Sixers side if you think the Stars have early wickets in them.
Most Wickets
Sandeep Lamichhane at $4.50 looks the smart play on an SCG pitch that will be receptive to spinners whilst Curran at $4 is the pick for the Sixers with his death bowling.
Jackson Bird ($5.50) the value play.
Player of the Match
M Stoinis at $11’s is very appealing as is Lamichhane at 17’s. Joe Denly at $11’s for the Sixers is overs, he has not started well but can tear apart any attack.
