Head to Head
The Stats Insider model has a 4% edge for the home side here which I really like. Adelaide need only about 120-130 runs to win this game given Siddle’s return to their team. It will be very tough for the Thunder to chase or post a big total with the Strikers bowling attack. Bookies may be jumping off but the model is sticking with the Strikers. Like the $2.10 price tag!
Highest Opening Partnership
Another small edge on the Strikers here to outlast the Thunder openers. Watson and Buttler look like falling on any given ball and I just don’t see many dangers for the Strikers openers by way of Thunder power play bowlers.
Most Sixes
Orange smiley for the Strikers (6%). This may seem a strange bet but it would have much more to do with the Strikers bowlers being hard to hit out of the park than any comment on a lack of Thunder power hitting. The model likes the Strikers almost across the board tonight.
High Bat
Weatherald has looked in great touch so far without putting up a big score. Tonight at $4’s I just like him to get a start and continue on with it. Always value about Jon Wells batting #5 at $9’s.
For the Thunder Callum Ferguson at $6’s is big value. Surely someone has suggested to him that maybe, just maybe, the reverse double overhead paddle lap sweep in the tuck position might not be his go. Expect Fergy to cut, pull and drive his way to a score tonight on a deck he knows very well. Sangha at $9’s is value as well against a team whose bowlers will make early inroads.
Player of the Match
Weatherald at $11’s would be my main play tonight. He just looks on the crest of a big score. Siddle at $21’s could be a value play tonight. Arjun Nair at $23’s is also a chance of a 2 wicket / winning runs kind of performance. Throw in Fergy as well at $13’s.
