Welcome to Stats Insider's Big Bash Market Preview - your daily look at what the model (and my gut) are seeing in the main markets (and a few exotics) each and every day of BBL08!
The Stats Insider model has a nice 6% edge for the Scorchers for most sixes tonight and in the High bat market it could be 15 runs that could win today on what looks a real turner at Spotless Stadium.

Head to Head
No value here according to the model in the Thunder v Scorchers game. Very slight edge (1%) for the Scorchers but the model still has the Thunder 54% favourites to win from the 10,000 simulations.
Most Sixes
A 6% edge from the model for the Scorchers which surprised me given how poorly Perth have batted in general this season. They do bat deep and the Thunder have fifty nine spinners so only a few need to connect for the fence to be cleared. #trustthemodel
High Bat
Ashton Agar at 17’s is ridiculous value here in a game which, as discussed above, will be spin-dominant which could spell trouble for the top order of the Scorchers. Cartwright the saver at $5’s he plays the spinners well.
If the Thunder bat first I like Sangha at $9’s. Has missed out his last few games but this could really be a game where his class shows through in a rebuilding type role.
Player of the Match
Fawad Ahmed, Chris Green, Arjun Nair and don’t sleep on Usman Qadir – the spinners tend to dominate this game and have a very good strike rate of MOM honours.
