Welcome to Stats Insider's Big Bash Market Preview - your daily look at what the model (and my gut) are seeing in the main markets (and a few exotics) each and every day of BBL08!
If Max Bryant could catch both the Fall of 1st Wicket bets would have saluted last night and Mujeeb would have been well on his way to a Man of the Match performance. Not to be.
Let's get stuck into game two! Make sure you jump on to the Renegades v Scorchers Match Page to see exactly what the model is saying about tonight's match.

Head to Head
That bowling attack for the Scorchers could almost be the Australian attack. With the Renegades coming in weaker in their batting I fail to see how they stand up against the Perth pacemen. Agar and Quadir (if he plays) can both keep it tight as well. Perth still far too appealing even at the $1.65 price for me tonight.
Fall of 1st Wicket
I am a big fan of backing against a solid opening partnership in the BBL, especially early. Just look at what BJ McCullum did last night, and the Heat would have had Weatherald second over had they been able to catch. Willey and Behrendorff can both get plenty of movement against a poking and prodding Tim Ludeman, whilst the Pakistani paceman Usman Khan is a wicket-taker as well. Certainly, Renegades Under 19.5 and I like the Scorchers for Highest Opening Partnership.
Most Sixes
The model has spied its first bit of solid value in BBL08 with a solid 5% edge on the Scorchers for Most Sixes tonight. Marsh, Cartwright, Turner, Coulter-Nile are all prolific fence-clearers. Scorchers Most Sixes the play of the game for mine as well.
High Bat
The model's High bat simulations will be up and running in the new year but let's have a go anyway - Mitch Marsh is the class at nice odds of $4.50 whilst for the Renegades I'll be looking much further down the team sheet. Wildermuth ($11's) and Nabi ($10's) appeal for a rearguard innings. Nabi opened twice last season so don't be surprised if he gets that role tonight. A flashy 25 at the top, while the field is in, could very well take down the High bat for the Gades here.
Most Wickets
Both teams have so many bowling options that 2 wickets could very well take this market down tonight. Expect a split dividend though. I really like Ashton Agar here at $6 for Perth. If Quadir plays they will likely bowl in tandem in the middle overs and the Pakistani leggy keeps it very very tight so the Renegades will likely want to take Agar down. That brings him into play every ball. Prefer to watch what the Renegades do with Wildermuth/Tremain/Christian first up. Boyce at $5's would be my most likely in a very open market.
Player of the Match
Agar is at 17's for Man of the Match. If the Gades take a few early poles he could see plenty of time in the middle batting #6 and as mentioned above, he looks in a prime spot to take a few wickets tonight. Nabi at $11's and Mitch Marsh at $13's both have appeal for me.
