BBL Markets Preview Game 37: Strikers v Hurricanes

Just the one suggested bet at this early stage with not much value about in the city of churches tonight when the Strikers host the Hurricanes at the Adelaide Oval.

Head to Head

No edges (literally zero) for either side in the main market says bookmakers have this game pretty spot on at $1.90 each. The model can't split them either - this is possibly the biggest pick'em of the season so looking elsewhere for value.

Most Sixes

There is a small 4% edge (suggested bet) from the model for the Strikers in the Most Sixes market. Might seem strange betting against the Short/Bailey/McDermott/Wade/Faulkner batting combination, but the model rates the bowling of the Strikers and they are almost at full strength tonight. It's a small one, but an edge is an edge.

High Bat

Hopefully you're all cashed up from the $15 winner last night with Ben Cutting taking down the High Bat market for the Heat (you're welcome).

It feels like an Alex Carey kind of night tonight, but at $3.25 I just can't have him. Way too short. Speaking of Short, I don't mind the $7 about Matt Short a little down the list - both he and Wells ($9) remain the clear value plays.

For the Hurricanes I am going even further down the list to guys like Milenko ($17) and Faulkner ($26). Both these guys can bat but have been starved of opportunity. Up against the best bowling unit in the competition tonight so I'm having a go whilst their odds are still up.
