BBL Markets Preview Game 44 & 45: Tuesday Double-Header

Welcome to Stats Insider's Big Bash Market Preview - your daily look at what the model (and my gut!) are seeing in the main markets (and a few exotics) each and every day of BBL08!

Two suggested bets for this Tuesday BBL double-header with the model finding some value in the early game in Hobart between the Hurricanes and Heat.

Most Sixes

The Stats Insider model has spied some underdog value for the Heat here against a red hot Hurricanes side in the Most 6's market, identifying a 5% edge for the visitors. The Hurricanes are still favourites in the market (and according to the model) but bookies have undervalued the Heat here. I concur. It's much closer to a 50/50 contest in this market.

No value in the late game with model and markets being very circumspect about the Strikers who have been really poor recently. I think the Strikers represent solid value tonight with Siddle back in, on the crest of some solid form.

Fall of 1st Wicket

The Heat have been woeful this season and Hurricanes opener James Faulkner is on fire so it stands to reason that the model really likes the Heat at the Under 24.5 runs (7% edge).

Model playing a straight bat in this market in the late game. No value.

High Bat

Fire up your Alex Ross tonight at $11's. Absolutely due for a nice 35-45 run effort at the back end of the innings. Any time a #5 is over ten's I'll take that value all day long, especially on a tricky Hobart wicket against a solid opening bowling combination.

D'Arcy Short at $3.25 is too tempting tonight for the Hurricanes.

Most Wickets

In the late game Rashid Khan at $3 on a spin-friendly SCG pitch is just too good to pass up (don't mind him in a multi with Short either!)
