BBL Markets Preview Game 52: Hurricanes v Renegades

Welcome to Stats Insider's Big Bash Market Preview - your daily look at what the model (and my gut!) are seeing in the main markets (and a few exotics) each and every day of BBL08!

Not much value in the main markets tonight from the model with two top teams going at it in Hobart but there is plenty of value to be found in the exotics for those that like a little more bang for their buck!

H2H

The Stats Insider model thinks the bookies have got this one pretty spot on in the main markets, but with plenty of rain around in Hobart expected all day, make sure you check back in at the match page closer to start time because markets (and therefore value) can fluctuate considerably when rain is a factor.

High Bat

Assuming we get a full game in, I'm loving the $7 about Ben McDermott for the Hurricanes. Hobart love a good BBL choke, and with a little bit of lairising (Faulkner rested) creeping into their selection room there is definitely a situation where McDermott and Bailey have to mop up a poor start tonight. Macca due to turn it on too,  he will love the Renegades seamers late.

For the visitors, Dan Christian is likely to bat #6 tonight which makes his $15 look amazing. I'll be having some of that too.

Player of the Match

Qais Ahmed on debut at $17 is too good to pass on. The Afghani leggie should prove a handful to the big-hitting Renegades top order, especially if he gets a look at Harper and Cooper. Could easily finish with a three wicket debut, which should be enough to take this down as the judges love a good narrative.

McDermott at $15's the other one I'm looking at, sensing it's a Macca day out.

If rain is likely to impact play, consider Riley Meredith at $21's, he should open the bowling in Faulkner's absence.
