BBL Markets Preview: Semi Final #2: Renegades v Sixers

The penultimate game of BBL08 has (finally) arrived in this marathon season and the Stats Insider model has spied a value play in the most unlikely of markets.

MATCH PREDICTIONS: Renegades v Sixers

Head to Head

The model has identified a slight 2% edge for the Sixers at the 48% which tells you this contest is as close as they get (and that Renegades fans and Sydney-hating Melbournians are probably helping to create some value for the Sixers).

Highest Opening Partnership

Ben Dunk saluted for the model last night, getting out with the consummate ease and speed with which we are used to seeing him dismissed in BBL08. Few nerves there when the Stars were 9 runs off 2 balls but a bit of faith in the model and bang.

Tonight the trust must run a bit deeper than liking Dunk to get out early, with the model identifying a 5% edge for the Sixers in the Highest Opening Partnership market. I don't like it one bit but I only assume the model loves Dwarshuis against Finch/Harris.

High Bat

Two value plays tonight for the home side with Mackenzie Harvey at $15's and Cam Boyce at $34's. Harvey will bat #5 most likely and should come in ahead of Christian should the Gades find themselves in early trouble whilst Boyce can go up the order and slot in anywhere on the back of his heroics last start.

For the Sixers I'll take the captain Henriques at $5's and a sprinkle of Silk at $7's.

Player of the Match

Value in the Sixers. Ben Dwarshuis at $26's is massive overs for a guy who can finish with 3/10 from 4 whilst I don't mind the $15 about Henriques who should get a bowl tonight with no Curran.
