Can the Sharks Win the 2023 NRL Premiership?
Last updated: Jun 7, 2023, 6:25AM | Published: May 31, 2023, 11:58AMThe Sharks are the third most likely team to win the 2023 NRL premiership.
According to Stats Insider's NRL futures model, the Sharks have a 15% chance of winning the 2023 NRL premiership. The Sharks are only behind the Panthers at 28.4% and the Rabbitohs at 23.3% in our NRL premiership probabilities.
Cronulla is on the fourth line of betting at Dabble at $8 to win the 2023 NRL premiership.
Stats Insider's NRL expert explained that the Sharks are ranked as the third most likely team to win the premiership because of their fixture difficulty for the remainder of 2023.
"Our NRL schedule difficulty model believes the Sharks have a better schedule in the second half of the season compared to the other top-four teams outside the Penrith Panthers, who are our most probable 2023 premiership winner," he said.
"That, compounded by the fact they were a good side last season and their squad stayed relatively intact, where other teams like the Storm had departures in the off-season, holds the Sharks in good stead going into the Origin break.
"The game this week against the Broncos is important, but with the sixth easiest run home of any team in the NRL, the model has the Sharks as the third most probable team for the 2023 premiership."
