We’re back a week early from our swing season holidays after seeing a horrible field and an even worse weather report at the Bermuda Championship tonight. 

Call us crazy but sometimes the best, most lucrative weeks of a PGA punting season come when during these unbelievably rubbish events where the field is worse than Benny An’s putting and the weather more questionable than Patrick Reed’s ethics.

The Tour travels to Bermuda tonight, to Port Royal Golf Course which is a short, easy (relatively speaking) resort course with forgiving rough and perfect Bermuda greens. 

The only defence this course has is the weather and whilst there doesn’t appear to be much rain forecast in the first two days, the wind is going to BLOW tonight with 20-30mph winds expected throughout Day 1. 

The formula for success here is getting to that 100-130yd spot and sticking your wedge then draining the putt, and with little trouble off a lot of the tees here, it really does come down to a putting contest normally. 

But this week won’t be normal because even that 125yd wedge shot will be tricky in this wind, those stone dead 3ft birdie putts will more likely be coin-flip 10-12fters, and that’s the good shots. 

Being able to keep the ball low and still control the spin will be essential here, so whilst talent is always ideal when selecting players, experience in playing in/through tough conditions, good wind history and great Bermuda putting are the main elements were looking to build a card off of. 

The Card

More so than almost any other event this year, the Bermuda Championship gives guys who have looked long past much more of a chance than they would get at a harder, longer or stronger field. 

Add a bit of weather and that experience factor only increases which brings the shorter, older guys right into play – providing they have a few big days with the flatstick of course.

Speaking of Luke Donald, the SI model is liking the look of the 8-1 odds for a Donald T20 finish this weekend. 

In fact there are about 30 green smiley bets on the site across the Top 5, Top 10 and Top 20 markets so if you want to try and mix some data into your decisions go and have a play around on the PGA pages, a lot of the Club 20 PGA guys find it really helpful for DFS as well.

There we are, 30 bets in total to start the 2021/22 PGA betting season at Club 20, lets hope we can continue our form from the last few seasons and remain in the black, we’ve never had a losing PGA season here at Club 20 so as long as no one says that out loud that should just continue!
