Final Day Madness: What's still at stake in the Premier League

Back in March, when the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic halted much of the world's daily operations, the notion of the English Premier League returning, let alone finishing, was far fetched.
Yet, here we are four months later, and we've just a day of matches before we can sign off on a truly bizarre season.
Despite the title having been decided a few weeks ago with Liverpool claiming their 19th league trophy, there's still plenty to play for ahead of the league's final match-day.
Here is what's still at stake heading into the final gameweek.
THE FIGHT FOR THE TOP FOUR
There's still everything to play for regarding the final two Champions League spots ahead of the EPL's final set of matches.
Manchester United will take on Leicester away from home in a bid to qualify for Europe’s biggest competition. A draw will suffice for the Red Devils, however an away trip to Leicester is never an easy assignment.
While the Foxes have been in poor form since the league's resumption, this is a club which has been for the most part brilliant this season, occupying a top-4 spot for 33 of the league's 37 match-days so far.
While Leicester have won just two of their last 8 matches, they're still packing a lot of firepower. Their 67 goals this season is a number bettered by only Manchester City (97) and Liverpool (82), while Jamie Vardy will likely be crowned the club's first ever EPL Golden Boot winner this weekend.
Chelsea meanwhile have a tricky assignment against Wolves. If the Blues were to lose, and United and Leicester were to play out a draw, they would miss out on UCL qualification and be resigned to life in the Europa League.
THE RELEGATION BATTLE
Aston Villa’s shock win against Arsenal mid-week hoisted them out of the relegation zone, which was where the Villains had spent their previous nine match-days.
They'll travel to West Ham who have successfully performed their own escape act, netting 11 points from their last six games to secure another season in the world's richest competition.
While Norwich's place in next season's Championship has been confirmed, Watford and Bournemouth will be doing everything in their power to avoid the same fate. While an Aston Villa loss would greatly assist their cause, both clubs will know they'll have to produce results of their own, with Bournemouth facing a trip to Everton, while Watford will travel to Arsenal.
A SPOT IN THE EUROPA LEAGUE
One of Leicester, Manchester United, or Chelsea will qualify for the Europa League by virtue of missing out on a top-4 spot. Fighting to join them in Europe will be Wolves, this season's definitive surprise packet, and Tottenham, perhaps the league's biggest disappointment.
Tottenham are unbeaten in their last five matches, conceding just two goals in the process. If they can secure the three points away to Crystal Palace, coupled with Chelsea potentially taking care of Wolves, then all might not be lost for Jose Mourinho's team.
Missing out on Europe, however, would be a bitter blow for Wolves. Not only have they spent the last ten match-days occupying a top-six spot, but this was a team good enough to beat Manchester City twice, and who are of course still alive in this year's Europa League, with a quarter-final still to be played against Olympiacos.
With all the above permutations and combinations, the final day of the English Premier League is sure to be a blockbuster!
