The Roosters continue to let down their backers (like me!) with sub-standard performances. Keary and Tedesco both played very poorly last weekend, with the former a target for opposing defences and Tedesco’s attacking impact becoming very predictable.

The return of Sam Walker and Dom Young, however, are huge. This should really improve their attack and with guys like Watson, Crichton and Whyte giving some quality early ball, I think the Roosters will simplify their attack and play through the middle.

However, they will need L Collins and JWH to lift… both of their starting props are well off the pace, with he latter too old and Collins having a poor season compared to recent years.

As for Dragons, Coach Flanagan has the Dragons playing tough and this was evidence in their first half D against Warriors. Off the back of that, they were able to use Sloan, Hunt and Lomax to score some points and there is no doubting this Dragons team will be competitive in 2024.

I do think they are going to run into a very determined Roosters outfit, but I think the bookies have this about right and I'm leaning to the Roosters lifting for the occasion.
