The Sharks are flying under the radar again in 2024 and so it is no surprise they are only 4 point favourties against a team that was beaten by out of form Eels last weekend.

The Sharks are very close to full strength now that they have some forwards back on deck. They are without Katoa, but that loss is counteracted by the fact that the Cowboys are also missing a winger in the form of Taulagi.

The Cowboys backrow is not performing as well as I thought the would, with Nanai and Cotter still a fair way off the best form they have displayed in recent season. In contrast, Wilton is playing so well I am surprised his name has not been raised as an Origin contender and McInnes is also winding back the clock with some hard working, no-nonsense form.

These teams are remarkably similar in that they move the ball around well. The key difference, however, is that the Cowboys have conceded a lot of points in 2024. With 24.8 points conceded per game, the Cowboys have the third worst defence in the competition.

The Sharks should be able to defend their way to victory here and I think the market is about right.
