The Punt Return: Betting on the NFL - What's Wrong With The LA Rams, and Are The Buccaneers Actually Good?

Nick, James & Josh are all back on deck for the Week 5 Edition of The Punt Return Podcast.

They open the show talking about the power balance in the NFL and how weak the AFC is behind New England and Kansas City while the NFC is loaded with potential Super Bowl contenders.

Nick asks what is wrong with the Rams? While on the flip side of that discussion, Josh asks "are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers actually good?".

After recapping their Week 4 results, where Nick continues to dominate on his long shots and Buffalo Bills plays, they jump right into Week 5 of the NFL. Of particular interest to the boys this week was the "we're actually good" bowl between young quarterbacks Gardner Minshew & Kyle Allen. Both have been impressive filling in for their injured starters & Josh notes that both are top ten QB's in the NFL in ANY/A (an important metric when evaluating QB's).

While discussing this game, James continues to pound the table for Brian Burns' Defensive Rookie of the Year prospects as he racks up sacks and QB Hits.

In looking at the NFL's first London game of the season, Josh mentions the great results for the "home" team in the matchup.

With his confidence flying sky high, Nick decides to take the week's biggest underdog at the spread, betting against one of the most formidable duos in the NFL.

Nick & Josh go head to head yet again, but this time it doesn't include the Texans. This time they are split on the Broncos @ Chargers game and discuss the immense injury toll on the Chargers squad.

They wrap up the Week 5 preview of the week by discussing arguably the game of the week between two young contenders in the "we're for real" bowl. The Browns fresh off their road win in Baltimore travel to San Francisco to take on the undefeated 49ers. The panel are split on the 3-point line in this one.

They finish the show with their best bets & long shots before SI's head chef Darryl Data pops in to discuss the model's results and leans for the week.
