The Roos Snatch An Extraordinary Victory

A last minute goal from North Melbourne Captain Jack Ziebell stole an extraordinary win for the Roos against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night, kicking a goal with 20 seconds left to continue the momentum of an incredible North season.

North overcame a deficit as much as 24 points in the second quarter, and had actually looked to have finished the Dogs off with a 10 point lead late in the final term, but with two minutes to go Billy Gowers goaled for the Bulldogs to give them a late lead.

But Ziebell would not be denied as an incredible Ben Brown toe poke set him up to steal a remarkable win.

Ben Brown kicked a five-goal haul as his Coleman Medal Campaign continued, and his goal assist for Ziebell capped off a magnificent night for the Roos forward.

After losing two games to the Bulldogs by less than a goal last season, it was sweet for North Melbourne to exact some revenge which also included Shaun Higgins getting one over his former side, as he dominated the second half with 22 disposals, finishing with 32 for the night.

The second and third quarters saw constant swings in momentum, as the Stats Insider In-Play Win Probability overseeing nine changes - one of the biggest of the entire AFL season.

North Melbourne were 81% likely winners when they held the lead in the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs rally and Gowers lead-taking goal.

The Roos and Ziebell would not be denied, however, as they sealed what could be a season-defining win at Etihad Stadium.
