Wests Win A Thriller

Benji Marshall spearheaded a grinding 14-10 win for the Wests Tigers on Sunday afternoon, staging a late comeback to steal the victory against the Canterbury Bulldogs. Alongside co-Captain Chris Lawrence, Marshall led the Tigers back from a deficit to seal a late win for Ivan Cleary's men.

Despite being on the back foot most of the game, Marshall scored the Tigers first try before playing a helping hand in the second as Wests took home the two premiership points. Lawrence was right there for the match winner and ground out 127 running metres during the game.

Canterbury encountered the same problems they've had all season long - an attack that failed to fire when it mattered as they struggled to hit the scoreboard, and playing against the NRL's third-best defence didn't help matters.

It was a seesawing contest from start to finish, but it was the Tigers who eventually gained a stranglehold on the game with 15 minutes to go when Lawrence scrambled over before their defence held firm to claim victory.
