NRL Try Location

The Try Location Analysis tool shows which side of a team's attacking (or defensive) line has scored (or conceded) the most tries.

Following an analysis of every try scored in the NRL this year, each try is classified as either ‘left’, ‘right’ or ‘middle’ based on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) where the line break which led to the try occurred, and where the try was ultimately scored.

For example, if a player makes a break down the left hand touchline, only to run around and ground the ball under the posts, that would be considered a 'left side try' scored by the attacking team. Similarly, that try would be considered a 'right side try' conceded by the defensive team.

By hovering over the graph you can see more detail behind each team's numbers in the above categories. This data is updated every Tuesday throughout the season with the latest matches.
